This initiative actively supports primary schools in establishing and maintaining kitchen gardens that will provide fresh fruits and vegetables for their school feeding programs. It promotes healthier meals, food sustainability, and agricultural awareness among students. During this impactful activity, youth workers planted avocado, plantain, banana, orange, lime, and tangerine trees at several participating schools, including La Ressource Combined, Bexon Infant, Ciceron Combined, Ti Rocher R.C., Forestière Methodist, and Babonneau Primary School. These efforts reinforce the project’s mission to promote sustainable agriculture and enhance access to nutritious foods within schools. The “Farm to Table” Project directly aligns with the Youth Development Pillar on Health and Well-Being, emphasizing the importance of healthy lifestyles, improved nutrition, and holistic youth development. The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports is unwavering in its commitment to support innovative, youth-led programs that foster leadership, strengthen community engagement, and promote resilience through sustainable development practices.
