Who Replaced Paul Rodgers at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?

Key Points Bad Company was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame without Paul Rodgers present. Rodgers missed the ceremony due to health, stating, “I have to prioritize my health.” Simon Kirke and guest musicians performed, with Rodgers delivering a pre-recorded speech. Bad Company was just inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — but lead singer Paul Rodgers did not attend the ceremony or perform with the group. On Monday, Nov. 3, Rodgers announced he would be missing the ceremony due to unspecified health issues. “My hope was to be at the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health,” he said in a statement. “I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Thanks for understanding. Simon [Kirke] along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me — guaranteed to rock.” Though Rodgers could not be in attendance, his bandmate Simon Kirke was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Mick Fleetwood. The other two original Bad Company members, Mick Ralphs and Boz Burrell, passed away in 2025 and 2006, respectively. After the performance, Kirke delivered a speech that paid tribute to Rodgers, Ralphs, and Burrell. At the end, he introduced Rodgers, who addressed the crowd with an emotional pre-recorded speech.
