Don’t come for Jan Ravnik or you’ll have to endure the wrath of his “Dancing with the Stars” partner, Jen Affleck. Former “DWTS” pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy was on his wife, Peta Murgatroyd’s podcast, “The Penthouse with Peta,” where he slammed Jan Ravnik for his technique and ability to teach ballroom dancing to his star partner, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star, Jen Affleck. “I’m sorry Jan has absolutely no business being a pro on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ There’s zero foundation, technique, quality, understanding of the partnership,” Maksim said on the podcast. “Bro, I’m getting emotional. It is absurd. And this is unreal, how blind we have to be, and, God forbid, say what’s obviously there. He had no idea what [the] foxtrot is supposed to look like. How are you gonna expect him to teach it and deliver that message in a format that is completely different from ballroom dancing?” The “DWTS” winner also took jabs at Jan, saying he’s a “tour dancer,” this referencing Jan’s rise to fame on Taylor Swift’s “The Era’s Tour,” with Peta saying, “They hired him, babe. They did it. They hired him. He’s a Taylor Swift dancer. It’s the obvious reason why he is hired.” She continued, “Hiring a non-ballroom dancer to teach ballroom dancing to a celebrity as a job is outrageous.” All of this didn’t sit well with Jen Affleck, though. She took to TikTok to address the haters in a video that shows her angrily typing on her phone. The video had text over it saying, “Me when anyone talks trash about Jan.” Jan was sitting beside her in the video miming that anger “doesn’t represent me or what we need to be doing.” Jan took to his Instagram Stories to seemingly respond to Maks’ comments by sharing a video of he and Affleck in the “DWTS” ballroom for a rehearsal and quoted a Taylor Swift lyric in the post. “I’ll be the actress starring in your bad dreams,” he wrote, a lyric from Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.” This also happens to be the song Ravnik and Affleck will be performing it on “DWTS” tonight for Halloween Week.
