What did Mirziyoyev discuss with Vucic at Kuksaroy? - qalampir.uz

Today, on October 28, official talks between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic took place at the Kuksaroy residence with the participation of official delegations. The press service of the Uzbek leader reported this. The meeting focused on prospects for further strengthening practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia. President Mirziyoyev warmly welcomed the Serbian leader, noting that this first summit in the history of their partnership is of great significance and will elevate Uzbekistan–Serbia relations to a qualitatively new level. “Your official visit is a historic event taking place in the year marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Uzbekistan holds great sympathy and respect for Serbia. Our peoples are united by strong bonds of friendship and a similar mentality,” said the President of Uzbekistan. Special attention during the talks was given to increasing mutual trade, preparing a comprehensive cooperation program in such key sectors as mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, the chemical industry, information technology and digitalization, the agro-industrial complex, tourism, and many other important areas. The importance of developing new transport corridors along the “Central Asia–Balkans” route, including within the framework of the Trans-Caspian corridor, was emphasized. To advance the economic cooperation agenda, the parties agreed to hold the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tashkent in 2026. The discussions also covered issues of organized labor migration, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and partnership in education. The two leaders exchanged views on pressing regional and international matters of mutual interest. It is worth noting that earlier at the Kuksaroy residence, an official welcoming ceremony was held for Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.
