On October 31, at the Kuksaroy residence, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Finland Alexander Stubb held talks with the participation of official delegations. The press service of the Uzbek leader reported the news. The sides discussed in detail the prospects for strengthening multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland, primarily in the political, trade and economic, investment, and humanitarian spheres. They noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of political dialogue and exchanges at various levels, as well as the growing activity in business partnerships. The talks also covered opportunities to significantly increase trade turnover, including the establishment of a Joint Fund for Trade Financing to encourage mutual product deliveries. Initiatives to open certification laboratories aimed at enabling Uzbek agricultural and textile products to enter the European Union markets were also supported. Priority attention was given to expanding cooperation in geology and critical materials, energy, agro-industry, digitalization, artificial intelligence, ecology, tourism, and other key sectors. Agreements were reached to hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in 2026 and to establish a Business Council. Both sides emphasized their mutual interest in broadening interregional cooperation. The parties also discussed collaboration in education, healthcare, and labor migration. It was announced that the first Forum of Rectors and Innovations is planned for 2026. In addition, the presidents exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues of mutual concern. It is worth noting that earlier at the Kuksaroy residence, a ceremonial welcoming ceremony was held for the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, who is on an official visit to Uzbekistan.
