Condé Nast Traveler recently published a list of the world’s best places to visit in 2026. If you're planning a trip for next year, you might want to consider these destinations. Topping the list is Arusha, Tanzania, renowned as a gateway to some of Africa's most iconic landscapes. The list includes destinations from around the globe, and notably, one of the featured places is located in India. This Indian city has made it to the list of the world’s best places to visit in 2026 Udaipur, often referred to as the City of Lakes, is ranked 24th on the Condé Nast Traveler list. It stands out as one of India’s most romantic and picturesque destinations. Surrounded by the Aravalli hills, the city features serene lakes, heritage palaces, and an old-world charm that makes it feel like a picture out of a postcard. The most iconic attraction is the Lake Palace, which seems to float on the waters of Lake Pichola. Another major highlight is the City Palace, one of the largest palace complexes in Rajasthan. Visitors enjoy taking boat rides on Lake Pichola, watching sunsets at Ambrai Ghat, and savoring traditional Rajasthani cuisine. "In a valley within the ancient Aravalli mountains, Rajasthan’s 16th-century 'lake city' has always drawn glamorous travellers to its Rajput palaces and stately havelis. Now, a flurry of luxury hotel openings is bringing a welcome sense of renewal," writes Condé Nast Traveler. Udaipur is well-connected by air, train, and road. The city features its own airport, Maharana Pratap Airport, with daily flights from major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Jaipur. Additionally, Udaipur Railway Station offers regular train services from various parts of India. You can also combine your trip to Udaipur with visits to nearby destinations. Mount Abu, Rajasthan’s only hill station, is approximately three hours away by road. Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur, known for their fort and Jain temples, are around two hours away. For a longer Rajasthan tour, you can easily travel to Jaipur or Jodhpur by road or train. The best time to visit Udaipur is during the winter months, from November to March. However, if you prefer fewer crowds and lush green landscapes, the monsoon season is also a great time to visit. Meanwhile, the top ten destinations on the list are Arusha, Tanzania; the East Coast of Barbados; Brussels, Belgium; Chiriquí Province, Panama; Deer Valley, Utah; Fes, Morocco; Gabon; Upper Carniola, Slovenia; Guadalajara, Mexico; and Hong Kong, China.
