Indiana Fever veteran guard Sydney Colson completely shut down the narrative around the team's "negative locker room." There were rumors throughout the 2025 WNBA season that the team didn't have the best chemistry off the court. However, Colson took the chance to clear the air and reveal the truth about what went down behind the scenes. The 36-year-old player joined the Fever ahead of the season and encountered how welcoming the team was. Coming from a championship culture with the Las Vegas Aces, Colson joined a team that was starting to build one. To her surprise, Indiana had a positive locker room that helped them on the court. The two-time WNBA champion appeared as a guest on "Post Moves," a podcast co-hosted by her teammate Aliyah Boston and legend Candace Parker. Boston asked Colson what her biggest surprise was with the Fever."I think the environment in the locker room was much better than what you would have anticipated as somebody from the outside looking in," Colson said.Colson revealed that the more the Fever hung out off the court, the deeper their connection became on the floor. Hanging out when not playing games set a tone for Indiana, which helped them capture a 24-20 record. It also encouraged them to play without All-Star guard Caitlin Clark, who was limited to just 13 games in her second year."Seeing that we got to the point we got to without really developing an off-court relationship was interesting. And it only got better as we started to do it more."The Indiana Fever made it to the postseason, even though their best player wasn't with them most of the campaign. The team made it to the second round and gave the eventual champions, the Aces, a real competition.Aliyah Boston cleared the air about the Indiana Fever's locker room narrativeThere have been plenty of rumors about the Indiana Fever not having the best locker room in the WNBA. Although Colson cleared the air in her recent podcast appearance, it's not the first time that a Fever player addressed the gossip. In September, Boston was a guest on the "Bird's Eye View with Sue Bird." While she was on the show, the Fever star talked about the false stories about the team's locker room."It's so easy for people to just make all these assumptions. People are like, 'Oh my gosh, her body language, she is not happy, she hates this entire squad.' Sometimes, when you have a bad game personally, that takes a toll on you," Boston said (1:21:18). "It's not that you don't like your team. But that takes a toll on you."The negative talk has not bothered the Indiana Fever, as the team stayed focused throughout the season.
