A new roadway development is in the works for Ruston, Louisiana, and local residents have the chance to weigh in. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), in collaboration with the City of Ruston, has announced plans to host a public meeting regarding the I-20 at Tarbutton Road/Frontage Road project. The initiative seeks to enhance the I-20 at Tarbutton Road interchange and establish a two-way frontage road which would stretch from a proposed new travel center to the nearby Grambling/LA 149 interchange. The open-house style meeting is set for October 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., slated to take place at the Ruston Junior High School, located at 481 Tarbutton Road. Those interested can drop by at any time during these hours to gather details on the project, study the exhibits outlining the planned improvements, and provide their feedback which, as noted by DOTD, is "a critical aspect of the project development process." Participants can offer their thoughts verbally at the venue, or submit written comments either there or via email. Information about the upcoming meeting was made available on the state agency's official announcement page. According to the announcement, Scott Hoffeld is the point of contact at Stantec, the consulting firm handling the project communications.
