It’s been a very ugly year for the Las Vegas Raiders, a team that had much higher expectations entering the year. Sunday’s loss in Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars was just as tough as any other, coming down to a one-point defeat in overtime. Pete Carroll decided to go for two points in overtime, but failed to pick it up. It’s been a very frustrating year for many players on the Raiders, whether due to poor play or injuries. Regarding the injuries, the Raiders welcomed back Brock Bowers in Week 9, and he came out to show everyone why he’s arguably the best tight end in the NFL, catching 12 passes for 127 yards and three touchdowns, good for 10.6 yards per reception. After the game, however, he stated that it isn’t a great feeling to continue to lose and was honest about the Raiders’ future, which sounded more optimistic than most would assume. “It’s not a great feeling,” Bowers told reporters. “You want to come back in here and celebrate with the guys. It sucks. You can’t celebrate anything… I think we’re definitely still working on finding that identity, especially now that we’re getting everyone back to full strength. The Raiders have some decent pieces, with Bowers being the best of the bunch, so there’s reason to believe things can turn around if everything goes as well as possible in the next few years.
