Odds, picks, best bet for Tuesday's college football action

Nobody saw Kennesaw State coming. The Owls were one of the worst teams in college football in 2024, going 2-10 overall and 2-6 in Conference USA. The one reason for optimism coming into the campaign was that the Owls were returning more players than anybody in their conference, but when that roster just went 2-10, that was not viewed as much of a positive. Turns out we were wrong, at least through six games. The Owls (4-2, 2-0) are now in the driver’s seat in Conference USA, alongside Jacksonville State, but there is still plenty of season left. A showdown with FIU at Pitbull Stadium on “Miami Vice Night” awaits. Kennesaw State vs. FIU odds, prediction Nobody saw FIU coming, either. Not least Western Kentucky, which was throttled by the Panthers, 25-6, in Bowling Green last week. The Hilltoppers were a big favorite in that game, which served as a reminder of how funky things can get when you match up two teams near the bottom of the ladder in FBS. The win over WKU didn’t seem to sway the betting market all that much, as FIU is still a 3.5-point underdog against Kennesaw State on Tuesday night. Perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise to see Kennesaw State as the favorite. The Owls have won four in a row, all by at least seven points, and are coming off a long break after demolishing Louisiana Tech, 35-7, on Oct. 9. Betting on College Football? They’ve played a pretty light schedule, with their last four games coming at home. The Owls haven’t been out of the Atlanta suburbs since Sept. 6. FIU was equally impressive in the win at Western Kentucky and has the offensive chops to ask questions of Kennesaw State’s sturdy defense. This seems like a market overreaction to a hot streak from a team that barely beat Merrimack earlier this season.
