Ayrshire-based mental wellbeing charity ThreeSixty, formerly Ayr Action for Mental Health, has welcomed two new trustees and an Interim Chair, as it continues to grow and support more people across the region. The announcement comes during Trustees’ Week, which celebrates the contribution of trustees across the UK and highlights the vital role strong governance plays in community-based organisations. For almost 40 years, ThreeSixty has been a lifeline for local people on the west coast. At its heart, ‘The Place,’ located on Newmarket Street, Ayr, provides a safe space where anyone aged 16+ can come to talk, feel heard and find support when life feels difficult. Thanks to funding by the public sector, private donations and corporate partners, each year the charity supports more than 2000 individuals and families across Ayrshire , helping them speak openly about issues impacting their mental health. One member of ‘The Place’ and mum of two commented on the support she has received since joining. Amanda said: “My life is so much better now I am in The Place. My journey has been challenging for years. I was feeling isolated and alone even though I was married with two lovely boys. “When I joined I felt the love and the warmth. I received so much mindfulness and kindness. I felt accepted. I finally had a purpose in my life and belonging. I was also taught to budget which was very helpful. I feel relaxed and happy.” Ayr-born management consultant Dylan Harper has been appointed as Interim Chair of the Board, bringing deep roots in the local community as well as extensive experience across public, private and third-sector organisations. In his new role, Dylan will work closely with Chief Executive, Tracy Gilmour, and the Board to help guide ThreeSixty through a period of transition, ensuring the charity can continue to grow while staying grounded in its community centred values. Dylan said: “ThreeSixty holds a really special place in the Ayrshire community, providing a place where people can speak freely and feel supported. “In this new chapter I look forward to working together with Tracy and our wonderful partners, South Ayrshire Council, as we continue to build ThreeSixty with some added fresh energy and ambition.” Alongside Dylan, Kelvin Walker, a respected Ayr-born lawyer specialising in corporate, private and property practice and Richard Longmuir, an established local businessman, recognised as one of the UK’s Top 50 marketing advisors, also join the board as newly appointed trustees. Both bring leadership, local knowledge and strategic expertise that will help guide the charity’s next phase of growth. Tracy Gilmour, Chief Executive of ThreeSixty Charity, said: “Our focus is to make sure we have the right people and skills in place so we can continue showing up for our communities in Ayrshire today, and for many years to come. "As we strengthen our foundations and look ahead, we’re investing in roles that will help us grow sustainably and keep our support rooted in communities with compassion and care. “With the appointments of Dylan, Kelvin and Richard, we’re also welcoming new trustee applications from people who share our values and vision for the future.
