Tara Martus was filmed having a lengthy exchange with the employee at the McDonald’s in Saginaw, Michigan, when tensions boiled over. In the video, the woman says she has been at the chain for an hour and argued with the employee, who explains that her breakfast order was automatically cancelled by the restaurant’s system. Despite the employee explaining that this was due to breakfast service being closed for the day and that a refund had been issued, the argument continued. When the employee finally walked away, Martus yelled: ‘F**K you, catch that hot a** coffee,’ before taking off the top of her coffee cup and throwing it at her. Martus’ actions backfired quickly. After the Buena Vista Police Department posted a public appeal, they received more than 100 tips about who she was. The coffee was incredibly hot when she threw it at the employee (Picture: Storyful) Less than an hour after posting the appeal, they had identified the suspect as Martus. Detective Russ Pahssen of the Buena Vista Police Department told MLive he received “over 100” tips and the woman was identified “in two minutes,” but was still at large. Despite the identification, she hasn’t been located yet. Paperwork to charge Martus with felony assault has been submitted to the prosecutor’s office. The McDonald’s employee, who was heard wailing in pain after the attack, suffered minor burns. The woman walked away afterwards (Picture: Storyful) Last year, an Open University student used her mobile phone to viciously assault a heroic McDonald’s worker who stepped in to break up a late-night brawl. Rachel Lomax, 26, jumped on Shaun Bannon and repeatedly battered him over the back of the head with her phone when she was asked to leave the restaurant following an outburst of violence. Mr Bannon had been attempting to restrain Lomax’s boyfriend, Tyler Ager, only to feel ‘banging’ against the back of his head before blood gushed down his forehead, leaving him with a deep one-and-a-half-inch cut which required stapling. When quizzed, office administrator Lomax, from St Helens, Merseyside, blamed her violent behaviour on ‘unresolved’ mental health issues. She faced up to six months’ jail after she admitted assault by beating under sentencing guidelines, but was given 12 weeks in prison, suspended for a year. The part-time law student was also ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work, 20 rehabilitation activity days and pay Mr Bannon £350 in compensation.
