By Benard Worlali Awumee, GNA Dzodze-Kuli (V/R), Sept 27, GNA – The newly out-doored Queen Mother of Dzodze-Kuli, Mama Kawo II, has pledged to make education, women’s empowerment and communal unity the cornerstone of her reign. In an exclusive interview with the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday morning, Mama Kawo II reaffirmed her commitment to driving social transformation in the Kuli community, describing her ascension to the stool as “a call to service and a mission to uplift lives through purposeful leadership.” Formally outdoored a fortnight ago at a colourful ceremony held at the Kuli Market Square, the 25-year-old Queen Mother, an Environmental Health Officer by profession is already earning praise for her clarity of vision and youthful dynamism, which many believe signal a new era of progressive traditional leadership in Dzodze-Kuli. During the interview, Mama Kawo II announced that girls’ education would be her foremost priority, calling it “a game-changer for every developing community.” She explained that when girls are educated, families thrive, and communities are lifted out of poverty, emphasizing her desire to see every young girl in Kuli have access to quality education and mentorship. On women’s empowerment, the young Queen Mother described it as “the tonic that gives strength and dignity to women who are the backbone of every home.” She also pledged to initiate projects and partnerships aimed at enhancing the economic independence of women through entrepreneurship training, vocational support, and leadership mentorship. Mama Kawo II also indicated the need for peace and cohesion, assuring her readiness to work together with both traditional rulers and political leaders to promote harmony and collective development. “Only through unity that we can achieve meaningful progress, a community that is divided cannot develop, let us invest our energy into how best we can contribute to Kuli’s betterment,” she stated. To consolidate her installation and demonstrate the support behind her leadership, Mama Kawo II was accompanied during her official engagements by several traditional leaders, including Mama Yorformi Gligui II of Afetefe, Mama Ameziatui II of Dzogbefuime, Togbi Dali of Dalikope, and Togbi Amadzi III of Dzogbefuime. Kuli, one of the oldest and most vibrant communities within the Dzodze-Penyi Traditional Area, is known for its deep cultural heritage, thriving agricultural practice and pottery craftsmanship. The community’s serene environment and striking natural landscape continue to make it one of the most admired settlements in the Ketu North District. As she begins her reign, Mama Kawo II’s youthful energy and developmental agenda are being hailed by many as a refreshing sign of renewal a blend of tradition and modern vision aimed at positioning Kuli as a model of inclusive and sustainable community leadership. Some natives engaged by the GNA assured that they would lend their support to the new Queen Mother and other traditional leaders for the betterment of the town.
