KARACHI: In the context of celebration of Maritime Week 2025, the Marine Pollution Control Department (MPCD) of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) successfully planted 350 mangrove saplings at the Eastern Backwaters of Karachi Port on 05 November 2025. This green initiative reflects KPT’s unwavering commitment to protecting and restoring mangrove ecosystems, which play a vital role in safeguarding the coastal environment and mitigating the impacts of climate change. Through continued efforts under its Climate Action Plan, KPT proudly supports the global agenda of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) working towards a greener, resilient, and sustainable coastline.
