Jets Facing Backlash for Raising Ticket Prices

The New York Jets are entering their bye with some momentum. The Jets pulled off a thrilling comeback in the fourth quarter to knock off the Cincinnati Bengals 39-38 on the road in Week 8. Amid the bye week and after New York’s first win, the Jets decided it was the perfect time to announce a price increase for tickets at MetLife Stadium for 2026. And fans weren’t too pleased with the announcement. “The Jets are raising ticket prices for the 2026 season and some fans are outraged — seemingly more related to the 1-7 record on the field than the pricing,” Cannizzaro wrote. “A Jets spokesperson told The Post on Tuesday that part of the fan anger is driven by a lack of recognition that the increase in 2026 season ticket prices is partially due to the addition of a ninth home game, one more than this season.” Jets fans on social media continued the outrage. “That was one costly win,” wrote a fan, noticing the hike was announced after the Jets’ first win. “We’ve been season ticket holders since 1986, but not anymore! this is insane #selltheteam,” wrote another. “They waited until they won ONE game,” posted another. Don’t buy the season tickets. Don’t give Woody money up front for bad product. I know those tickets were basically a birthright and seat licenses were paid but how much is too much at this point. Woody can do this because he knows people will keep renewing no matter what,” argued a poster. “Sure we paid for tix, We are stuck with the PSL extortion money! We need to send a message to Woody Next home game – Cleveland – no one go in – empty stadium!! Yes we paid, woody still gets our money and TV money but a message NEEDS to be sent EMPTY STADIUM!! Woody must go!” wrote another. The Jets appear on their way to having another losing season. New York has not had a winning season since they went 10-6 in 2015. The Jets will next host the Cleveland Browns on Nov. 9. For more on the Vikings and the NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.
