Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is one of the more important pieces of the Philadelphia Eagles offense next to quarterback Jalen Hurts. So when Barkley exited Sunday’s Week 8 matchup against the New York Giants at the end of the third quarter, Eagles fans were likely holding their breath. Barkley pulled up limping after an explosive 28-yard run with less than 10 seconds left in the quarter and immediately went to the blue medical tent for further evaluation. Video replay seemed to indicate that Barkley may have tweaked his hamstring — a common injury among the league’s biggest stars the last few weeks like Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson — with well-known sports doctor Jesse Morse also believing that to be the case. However, Fox Sports sideline reporter Erin Andrew confirmed that Barkley was questionable to return after suffering a groin injury. Saquon Barkley #26 of the Philadelphia Eagles is interviewed after the game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on September 14, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri. Barkley came out of the medical tent after being evaluated and promptly celebrated backup RB Tank Bigsby’s 29-yard run. Bigsby ran for 40 yards on the drive after Barkley left, helping set up a 17-yard touchdown strike from Hurts to tight end Dallas Goedert that extended the Eagles’ lead to 31-13. This is a developing situation and will be updated when more details become available.
