Horror in 'Safe City': Student Gang-Raped in Coimbatore, Attackers On The Run

This special report focuses on Lucknow's major global achievement after being named a UNESCO 'Creative City of Gastronomy', a recognition of its centuries-old Awadhi cuisine. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the recognition, stating, ‘Lucknow is synonymous with a vibrant culture, at the core of which is a great culinary culture. I am glad that UNESCO has recognised this aspect of Lucknow’. The prestigious designation was announced on World Cities Day, October 31, during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. This honour places Lucknow in the esteemed UNESCO Creative Cities Network, making it India's second city to receive this title for gastronomy after Hyderabad. The recognition is expected to significantly boost tourism, employment, and sustainable development, celebrating iconic dishes like Galouti Kebabs, Awadhi Biryani, and Makhan Malai on the world stage.
