Green Bay Packers Conquer Pittsburgh Steelers In 35-25 Win

The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers were set for a matchup on Sunday Night Football between two familiar faces. Aaron Rodgers went up against his former team, with whom he spent 18 years of his career. On the other side was the rookie that Rodgers mentored in Jordan Love. The Packers were looking to make it three straight wins and stay in First Place in the NFC North. Packers Offense Was Great Green Bay got off to a slow start in this one, but completely flipped a switch in the fourth quarter. With 15 minutes remaining, the Packers were down by five points. They went on to score twenty-one points, defeating the Steelers on the road. Jordan Love had a great game, completing 20 straight passes. According to Next Gen Stats, Love had a 0.1% chance of completing all 20 passes based on the difficulty of each pass. His top target was Tucker Kraft, who had 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns. On National Tight Ends Day, Kraft made his mark in all four quarters of this game. Love threw for 360 yards, which marks a new high for passing yards in a single game for him this season. The Packers’ defense also did a nice job, stepping up in the fourth quarter when the game was on the line. The Steelers scored on their final drive of the game, but it was too little too late. In Pittsburgh’s last six drives in the second half, Green Bay only allowed them to score twice. They were able to make the right adjustments at halftime, after the Steelers scored on four of their first five drives. The Steelers Fell Flat After getting off to a hot start in the first half, the Steelers got shut down in the second half. They were able to hold onto the lead in the third quarter but couldn’t secure it in the fourth. In their first two drives in the fourth quarter, Pittsburgh put together just six plays for -12 yards. These drives gave all of the momentum to the Packers, as they were able to score on five straight drives, absolutely dominating. The offensive line struggles, and bad penalties late are what cost the Steelers the game. The Packers’ defense was able to get the Steelers off the field quickly, which kept Love and the rest of their offense in rhythm. The Steelers will remain in First Place in the AFC North, despite losing their second straight game after a crushing loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last week on Thursday Night Football.
