The number of Mpox cases has hit 744 as of October 20, 2025, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced. This follows nine new cases recorded. Meanwhile, three people have died of the disease while there are currently no admissions. Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with someone who has the infection. The GHS has since encouraged people to protect themselves by avoiding close contact with infected persons; washing hands often with soap and water; and avoiding regular touching of the eyes, nose and mouth. It has also encouraged the members of the public to report to the nearest health facility when experiencing symptoms like fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, or swollen lymph nodes. “If you notice any of these, visit nearest health facility immediately.” Story by Hajara Fuseini
