After performing special pujas, priests from the Andal Temple here carried garland and vasthram, among other offerings, to the presiding deity in Tirumala on Sunday, where the annual brahmotsavam is being held as part of Purattasi month. The rituals commenced with special pujas to the deity here in the presence of HR&CE officials and members of the Board of Trustees on Friday. Devotees chanting ‘Govinda, Govinda’ went around the temple when the garland was being carried in a procession by senior priests. The officials said the garland, along with the parrot, would be presented to the deity at Tirumala on Sunday.
