Elections System opens temporary office near food court at STX’s Sunny Isle Shopping Center

ST. CROIX — The Elections System of the Virgin Islands announced it has a temporary location in the Sunny Isle Shopping Center. As of Monday, the department opened office space near the food court in the shopping center, and will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until further notice, according to a released statement. The announcement comes as workmen continue repair work at the St. Croix Elections office at its former location in the center’s annex. All services provided by the ESVI will be offered at the temporary location. Supervisor of Elections Caroline F. Fawkes apologized for any inconvenience the office closure may cause, and thanks the public, her staff, and members of the Board of Elections for their patience and understanding through this period of transition. “The health and safety of the staff is important to me — taking care of people/our asset is my No. 1 priority,” Fawkes said. Residents can contact the St. Croix Elections office at (340) 773-1021 with any questions or concerns.
