Eagles Announce Sudden Jaire Alexander Decision vs Packers

The Philadelphia Eagles made a big splash before Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, acquiring veteran cornerback Jaire Alexander in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens. Philadelphia's front office sent a sixth-round pick to Baltimore in exchange for Alexander and a seventh-round pick, giving the reigning Super Bowl champions some much-needed reinforcements in the defensive backfield. That being said, the Eagles will be without the veteran cornerback for Monday night's primetime matchup against the Packers. Alexander (knee/coach's decision) will not travel with the Eagles to face off against his former team in Week 10's "Monday Night Football" matchup. "Game Status Update: CB Jaire Alexander (knee/coach’s decision) will not travel to Green Bay for tomorrow’s game and will be listed as OUT," the Eagles announced on X. Earlier this week, the 28-year-old cornerback said he was feeling "really good," physically. “Physically, I'm feeling good,” he said after his first Eagles practice on Thursday. “Really good.” Alexander seemed to think he was ready to go for Monday night's game in Green Bay. “It's going to be nostalgic,” Alexander said. “It’s going to be fun seeing the guys that I grew up with. Being in the town that pretty much raised me in the NFL. That's always fun. “But I'm excited to be back in Lambeau on this side of the thing.” More Football: Falcons-Colts Refs Made Critical Coin-Toss Mistake Before Overtime The Eagles will roll out a cornerback unit featuring Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo. Philadelphia also acquired Michael Carter II in a recent trade with the New York Jets. Monday night's matchup against the Packers will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET.
