The newest main character in Disney’s star-studded lineup of cruise ships is ready for its debut adventure. Sailing into Port Canaveral, Florida, earlier this week, the Disney Destiny marked a milestone moment on its way to becoming the next big Disney Cruise Line vacation. The ship will make its way south to Fort Lauderdale for its official christening ceremony on November 10, before embarking on its maiden voyage later this month. This will be Disney’s first-ever “Heroes and Villains”–themed ship, inviting guests to journey through legendary stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Disney Parks. Onboard, travelers will find new, totally immersive dining experiences—including its golden-age-of-animation inspired 1923 restaurant, new Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King theatrical dining show and Worlds of Marvel restaurant, where iconic heroes and villains come face-to-face over dinner. The Disney Destiny will also feature De Vil’s, an exclusive adults-only bar and lounge, plus a Disney Hercules Broadway-style show, Black Panther-inspired Grand Hall and character experiences for travelers of all ages. The ship will embark on its maiden voyage on November 20, followed by an inaugural season of four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean from Port Everglades, Florida. Once aboard, guests can look forward to a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, and days at sea with fun character experiences. The Destiny represents the third ship in the trio, combining cutting-edge design with Disney’s signature character-driven experiences. Across the fleet, Disney Cruise Line sails throughout the Caribbean, Bermuda and Bahamas, with additional itineraries to Europe, Alaska and the Pacific Coast. In partnership with local organizations, Disney is offering students behind-the-scenes access to the world of entertainment and arts. Participants will explore their creative talents, learn about careers in storytelling and performance and be encouraged to dream big about their futures—a fitting theme for a ship named Destiny.
