They’re certainly among the teams to watch, but nothing is locked in, and Bichette’s preference to stay in Toronto adds a layer of complexity. As MLB insider David Schoenfield claims, “Bichette’s free agency will be fascinating… teams will be looking at him as a second or third baseman rather than a shortstop… We mentioned the Giants as a potential fit… for Bichette, as Giants second basemen hit just .216/.273/.342.” Notably, the Giants also look like strong contenders to make a run at Bo Bichette. If you remember, their second basemen struggled in 2025, hitting just .216 with a .273 OBP and a .342 slugging. That’s why Bichette, with his consistent bat and ability to drive in runs, could be such a great fit. Yes, defensively, he might not serve good, but his offense is what really makes him appealing. So yes, the Dodgers could be anytime in the race for Bichette as well, despite having no such concrete reports till now. However, Bichette’s potential journey to Los Angeles will come at a cost. Why? Because the Dodgers reportedly will ask him to move to 2B or DH, as Mookie Betts is well settled at shortstop. Will Bichette accept that?
