Dak Prescott’s week is turning out to be about more than just football. With the pressure building in Dallas after the Cowboys’ midseason struggles, the quarterback’s family has just shared some exciting news that takes him back to his roots. According to an Instagram story from Tad Prescott, Dak is set to return to his hometown for a special honor. Reason? Haughton High School in Louisiana, where the QB graduated, will officially name its football field “Dak Prescott Field.” The ceremony will be at Buccaneer Stadium on November 6th. Prescott is set to attend the event following his matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on November 3. They will honor the contributions Dak has made to the school and in the community. What contributions, though? As a thank you, the school decided to name the field after him. Head coach Matthew Sewell praised Dak’s influence, saying he reflects “everything we want all Buccaneers to be.” ADVERTISEMENT Article continues below this ad Tickets to the event are just $5, with Bossier Parish School Board employees getting in free of charge. Plus, students from K–12 who attend the ceremony will have a chance to win autographed footballs signed by Dak himself. The ceremony serves as both a fundraiser and a homecoming celebration for a hometown hero. “He made a great commitment to our school, and it’s something we can never repay him for,” Sewell said. “We’re so proud of him and can’t wait to have him back.” The announcement’s timing comes just as the Cowboys Nation is upset with Jerry Jones. With all that’s happening, there seems to be an intensified pressure on the Cowboys to deliver in week 9. With 4 losses this season, their playoff hopes are fading fast unless they can turn things around quickly. The Quarterback has laid it out clearly: “Win one, win this one.” The message came ahead of Monday night’s matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, a game Prescott views as the start of a must-have streak. He knows the math: beat Arizona, regroup during the bye, then take down the Las Vegas Raiders to stay in contention. “It’s vital,” the QB said. “This is most important right now. We got to start a streak, it’s vital.” If the Cowboys reach 5-4-1, their season suddenly looks different. Especially if the Philadelphia Eagles, facing Detroit and Green Bay next, stumble. That scenario would set up a huge divisional clash and a path back into the NFC race. But the story in Dallas isn’t just about numbers. It’s about pressure. The Cowboys’ decision to trade Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers only intensified the spotlight. While Parsons’ exit stripped away the team’s defensive anchor, Prescott made sure to stun the fans with his performance. In 8 games, the QB has scored 16 TDs for 2069 yards. Team owner Jerry Jones made his stance on Dak clear earlier this year. “I didn’t make him the highest-paid player thinking he wasn’t going to win a Super Bowl,” he told USA TODAY Sports. For Prescott, who has a 2-5 playoff record, that expectation hangs heavy. “I’d better take it personally,” he admitted. “Nobody should be happy with a losing record.” Now that Parsons is gone and the fanbase is restless, Prescott’s next snap carries more weight than ever.
