A country music singer is dealing with a lawsuit stemming from a 2022 incident in which he allegedly threw a full can of beer at a fan while performing. According to court documents acquired by People, Jameson Rodgers is being sued by plaintiff Samantha Haws, who claims she was hit by an unopened beer can thrown from the stage during the Barefoot Country Music Festival in Wildwood, N.J. Sony Music, Southern Entertainment and Molson Coors are also listed as defendants. Haws said the can “violently and without warning in the head and facial area,” according to Billboard, and caused “severe, painful and permanent bodily injuries.” Rodgers, 38, from Mississippi, won the 2020 MusicRow Discovery Artist of the Year award after he spent 2019 touring with megastar Luke Combs. Signed with River House Artists and Columbia Nashville, he achieved his first charting song on the Billboard charts in 2020 with the song “Some Girls.” Rodgers has also co-written hit songs for stars like Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line.
