Sean Rii raises Vatu 1m to rebuild science lab

Solomon Islands music sensation Sean Rii continues to demonstrate the power of music for good, raising a massive Vanuatu Vatu 1million to help rebuild a damaged science laboratory at Malapoa College in Vanuatu recently. The significant funds were generated from his recent Tuff Tumas Concert in Port Vila, an event organised in partnership with The Kings Men Prom that successfully turned entertainment into meaningful community action. The proceeds are directly earmarked for the reconstruction of the college’s science lab, which sustained damage earlier this year. In a statement, The Kings Men Prom highlighted their dedication to leveraging music to uplift local communities. “At our last concert in Port Vila, we proudly partnered with Malapoa College to raise Vatu 1 million in funds for rebuilding their damaged science lab,” the group stated. They extended their gratitude to key sponsors: “We sincerely thank our two major sponsors, Digicel Vanuatu and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Vanuatu, for making it happen for Port Vila.” Building on the success of the lab fundraiser, Sean Rii and The Kings Men Prom are now focusing their efforts on the Northern District Hospital’s Maternity Ward. They have already made initial donations of essential equipment to support mothers and health workers. “At the moment, we are taking action by donating essential equipment to the Maternity Ward — Dr. Margaret and her team — to support mothers during this intense heat season,” the organisers noted. “And we’re not stopping there.” An upcoming concert scheduled for October 24 will serve as a further fundraiser to provide crucial bathroom and toilet facilities, alongside other essential medical equipment, for the maternity ward. Sean Rii, reflecting on his recent performance at Korman Stadium last week described it as one of his most memorable shows. “Wow… I’m still speechless! Last night was something else — biggest crowd, mad energy, pure love everywhere. “Thank you Port Vila for turning all the way up and rocking with me! You all made it one to remember forever. Thankful to God for His grace and blessings,” the singer shared on his social media page on Facebook. “This is truly inspiring, thank you The Kings Men Prom and Sean Rii Tuff Tumas Team for using music not only to entertain but to heal, rebuild, and bring real impact to our communities. “What you’re doing shows the true heart of leadership serving others with purpose, “one elder from Vanuatu said. “Donating to the Maternity Ward and supporting our mothers is a blessing that will be remembered for generations. “Keep pushing forward the whole nation is proud of you,” another music follower and fans of Sean Rii Pattu Tavos shared. The Kings Men Prom, a Vanuatu-based promotions group, is well-known for organising major concerts and tours, frequently collaborating with corporate sponsors like Digicel Vanuatu to support charitable causes. Through this powerful partnership, Sean Rii and The Kings Men Prom are confirming that Pacific music is more than just entertainment, it is a genuine bridge for hope, community rebuilding, and lasting impact across the region. Meanwhile, Sean Rii and his live band will embark on their first-ever tour to Fiji on November 29th. The concert, presented by Wan Fire, will be staged at the Vodafone Arena in Suva. Fans and followers in Fiji are already expressing their excitement to welcome the Solomon Islands music sensation, as ticket sales continue to climb. By ULUTAH GINA Solomon Star, Gizo
