Coronation Street taken off TV in huge shake-up and fans are devastated

Coronation Street fans will be disappointed to learn that the soap won't be airing tonight due to a scheduling reshuffle on ITV1. The beloved Weatherfield drama typically graces our screens on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX. However, tonight's episode has been bumped off the schedule to make way for the Carabao Cup coverage. The football match between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur takes centre stage on ITV1 at 7:30pm, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm. Mark Pougatch will be joined by Les Ferdinand and Andrew Cole to present the face-off between the Premier League rivals at St James' Park. But fret not, Corrie devotees won't have to wait long for their next dose of Weatherfield drama. Coronation Street will return to its usual slot tomorrow night (Thursday, October 30) at 8pm, followed by the regular Friday episode at the same time. Meanwhile fans have been left fuming by the shake-up. Online, one person said: "The way they literally moved #Corrie to a Thursday on the same week that Eva Price has returned is evil. I want my Corrie fix tonight - it also means we have to wait until tomorrow for Carla's return." Another added: "Because of the dam football again. Why does it have to spoil our routine." A third chimed in: "Sat down to watch it with my lunch and was very disappointed it wasn't on! I hate football!" Someone else fumed: "Why is football on our Corrie station. There are sports channels for that. It’s not fair to some of us who like our soap operas !!!" It's an exciting time in Weatherfield as Catherine Tyldesley makes her much-anticipated return to the cast. Earlier this year, it was announced that the actress would be reprising her role as Eva Price, seven years after her departure from the soap, reports the Liverpool Echo . Catherine last appeared on our screens in August 2018, but the 41 year old is now back in Weatherfield, filming fresh scenes. Joining her on set are actors Aaron McCusker and Pauline McLynn, who play Eva's partner Ben Driscoll and his meddlesome mother Maggie. The couple share three children - Eva's daughter Susie and Ben's two sons. In Monday's instalment, Ben surprised Eva by removing her blindfold outside the Rovers to reveal he'd purchased the pub for her as a gift. From across the cobbles, Maria looked on in dismay upon realising Eva Price had returned permanently. Eva expressed her gratitude to Ben for the incredible surprise, whilst Leanne embraced her sister, delighted to have her back. Eva encouraged Leanne to fetch Toyah so the trio could share a drink and resolve their differences. Coronation Street usually airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
