David Lami Friebe, known for his portrayal of Trey on Sistas and Evan on All American, has broken his silence on joining the historic soap opera Beyond the Gates. The actor took to Instagram to share his reaction to joining the beloved show, writing, “I got the life-changing call that I booked Izaiah on Beyond the Gates less than 48 hrs before my first day of work, and I had to learn four episodes for that week on the plane … when I read those pages I got so excited cuz not only did I have my first full scenes with superstars Ambyr Michelle (Eva) and Colby Muhammad (Kat), but I got to spearhead a dynamic that’s rare these days: brothers reuniting and a father/son strained relationship … it’s a dream come true to work with Jibre Hordges (Jacob) and Malachi Malik (Elon) and I love how these scenes turned out, can’t wait to see these tales unfold … not bad for my first week huh” He also thanked his agent, mentors, and the shows writers for their support, adding, “So grateful for a complex and dynamic character, shoutout to @sheiladucks, @michelevaljean and the writers Always grateful for my agent/team @theamylord @eristalentagency and for this incredible opportunity from @therealkimcoleman to be on a historic soap opera I couldn’t have pulled this off without being prepared, and that’s cuz of @shannonsturges and @speisersturges, if u chasing this dream, study up and put the work in so u can grab the opportunity when it presents itself🙌🏾 @niatheactress this journey is impossible without u, and I can’t believe I get to celebrate this with u by my side” 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Fans React Fans quickly took to Friebe’s comments to share their reaction to his arrival.
