BBC is currently calling out for Brits who "have what it takes" to apply for next year's series of The Traitors - and there is a deadline for applying. The Traitors involves 22 strangers competing in missions to win a cash prize, while a few are secretly assigned the role of "Traitors". The Traitors must work together to secretly "murder" the other contestants, known as "Faithfuls," each night. Faithfuls can use daily "banishment" votes to try to identify and vote out the Traitors before they are eliminated themselves. The Celebrity Traitors is airing at the moment on BBC One and features 19 celebrities taking part in the show that's filmed in the stunning Scottish Highlands for the perfectly spooky backdrop. But before the celebrity version of the popular competition show comes to an end, the BBC is appealing for applicants for next year's non-celebrity version of the show. People have a few months to decide if they would want to take part in the deceitful game as the deadline for applying for next year's series of The Traitors falls on May 31, 2026. Promoting the application process, the BBC have shared: "The Traitors is back, and we are looking for fun, smart and strategic players to take part in the ultimate game of trust and treachery! "The Traitors is a competition series built on strategy, suspicion and deception, filmed in the Scottish Highlands. A team of players will compete in a series of missions, the more missions they complete successfully, the bigger the prize pot. "However, hidden amongst the players are the ‘Traitors’. The Traitors meet in secret and decide who to eliminate from their fellow players known as the ‘Faithful’. "The aim for the Traitors is to stay undetected until the end, the aim for the Faithful is to banish all of the Traitors before the game ends. Throughout the series, there will be twists, turns, rigorous challenges, shocks and surprises for the players. "Expect trickery, betrayal and backstabbing. Do you have what it takes to play? APPLY NOW. GET THEM, BEFORE THEY GET YOU!"
