Asda brings back popular scheme in 212 stores for people over 60 from Saturday

Asda is bringing back its popular ‘Winter Warmer’ scheme across its 212 cafes. This allows eligible customers to get a meal deal for just £1 in support of the over-60s over the cold winter months. Customers can claim this deal from Saturday, November 1, until Saturday, February 28. There is also the option to upgrade the meal with a small latte, cappuccino or speciality tea for an extra 55p, or a medium size drink for £1.10. Jordan Cummings, buying manager, cafes and concessions at Asda said: “We know winter is set to be incredibly hard for thousands of pensioners as they continue to worry about how to keep themselves warm in the face of rising living costs and on a fixed income. "Last year alone we sold over half a million meals showing the vital need for this initiative. "By bringing Winter Warmers back this November, we hope it will continue to be just as impactful across the winter months for those who need it most, as well as offering a relaxed social environment to come and chat to others.” Asda’s Community Champions are also inviting and encouraging many local over 60’s groups and individuals to take part in the scheme. It comes as Evri ParcelShops will be introduced in all Asda supermarkets nationwide following a new partnership between the two firms. Counters will allow customers to send, collect, and return parcels while doing their weekly shop. The Evri service was recently launched in more than 300 Asda locations, the Mirror reports. By April 2026, ParcelShops will be available in Asda's complete list of 1,200 UK stores. Chris Hall, vice president of logistics at Asda, said: "One of the things that sets Asda apart is our unmatchable mix of services, so we're delighted to be partnering with Evri to be able to launch a brand-new one just in time for the festive season. "We know how much our customers value convenience, and this service gives them the flexibility to collect or return an Evri parcel whether they're popping in for a pint of milk in one of our Express stores or doing their big shop in one of our larger stores."
