If you're a fan of Strictly Come Dancing you'll be aware of the so-called "Strictly Curse", where celebrity contestants fall for their professional dance partners. Recent speculation has surrounded Amber Davies and pro Nikita Kuzmin , however her boyfriend seems unfazed by the "curse" rumours. The former Love Island contestant features amongst the line-up for the latest series of the BBC dance competition and has faced rumours suggesting she's developed a bond with her professional partner, though Amber, 29, maintains she won't succumb to the infamous curse, which has previously seen contestants' romances collapse under the programme's pressures and intense partnerships with their dance professionals. In 2022 Amber met her boyfriend, Ben Joyce, whilst starring in Back to the Future The Musical on the West End. The couple starred opposite each other in the show , with the actor from Swansea as lead Marty McFly and Amber as Lorraine Baines. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter The North Walian performer also emphasised that her partner shares her confidence, revealing to The Sun newspaper: "The only good thing is Ben is not a****. "So I feel like I can brush it off as it is not affecting us in any way which is nice. I mean he is horizontal Ben." Amber revealed she's also developed a friendship with Nikita's girlfriend Lauren as they message each other "all day, every day" and continued to stress that Ben harbours no concerns about her partnership with the dancer because he's witnessed his girlfriend "fall in love on stage" numerous times throughout her theatrical career. She elaborated: "I think because he has literally watched me fall in love on stage multiple times in different shows. "I do understand from someone who is not experienced to assume, but no." The reality television personality had been soaring in Strictly but received a devastating blow at the weekend when she landed in the bottom two with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Amber eventually triumphed over the 53 year old former professional footballer in the dance-off after struggling to capture the public's support during the viewer vote. Despite her relief at surviving another week in the BBC's Latin and Ballroom dancing contest, Amber revealed her genuine emotions following Jimmy's departure during Sunday (October, 26) night's results programme on Instagram. Amber confessed that she felt like "absolute garbage". Wearing pyjamas whilst clutching a framed photograph of herself and Nikita performing on the programme, Amber lip-synced to a clip that confessed: "I woke up this morning, and I felt like absolute garbage, for anyone who wants to know what garbage is, that is French for trash." The Love Island personality elaborated on her emotions in the video's caption. Amber penned: "A gut wrenching evening in the dance off, especially dancing against two of the most amazing people I've met on this experience, @official_jfhasselbaink and @laurenmayoakley - I feel extremely lucky and thankful to be able to experience Halloween week on strictly, but there will be two very special people missed. "If you voted for us really really thank you, I guess this week we aim for a come back week? ! @nikita__kuzmin thank you for holding my extremely shaky hands extra tight."
