Alan Carr has revealed that he was unable to "get away" during a headline-grabbing moment on Celebrity Traitors. Speaking to Fatboy Slim (otherwise known as Norman Cook) on a recent episode of his travel podcast, Life's a Beach, Chatty Man star Alan weighed in on what has been described by one fan as the "TV moment of the year". In an incident Celia Imrie put down to "nerves" earlier this month, the iconic Calendar Girls actress let out an audible fart on the Claudia Winkleman -helmed game show, reducing the star-studded line-up to fits of laughter. As the celebrity "chained up" to Celia at the time, Alan enjoyed a front row seat to the hilarity , a scene he would describe to Norman after the DJ admitted that he didn't watch the show. Alan noted how he's "killing people willy-nilly" in his role as one of the so-called Traitors, prompting the Praise You hitmaker to question whether he should be sharing this detail on his podcast. He pointed out that the show had now aired, but he had to keep the fact a secret for months. Norman then asked whether he had been "outed" on TV, prompting Alan to jokingly detail his "taste" for blood and how he's akin to US serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. However, the conversation soon turned to Celia. He said: "And you try and watch Traitors because Celia Imrie...we were all chained up in this cabin, and Claudia Winkleman comes in", as Norman chimed in by describing the scenario as like one of his "cheese dreams". Alan continued: "And I'm chained to her, and then Celia just goes, 'Prrrp', farts, and then I go, 'Oh', and, of course, because I'm chained to her because it's part of the task, I couldn't get away from the smell. "It's number one on the BBC news; it's above Trump and Chinese spies. Celia Imrie's fart brings chaos." Vernon Kay was among the many viewers who reacted to the rib-tickling moment. Speaking on his BBC Radio 2 show, Vernon told his co-star, Scott Mills, how the incident had left him and his wife, Tess Daly , in hysterics. He said: "Honest, seriously, Strictly Come Dancing's Tess Daly and myself, we had tears streaming down our faces because it's Celia Imrie, and she trumped - on television! "But you could tell; there's a lovely cutaway, little side shot, where it's on Celia, and you could see in her eyes. She's like, 'Oh no; something is dwelling', and then when Claudia started talking, like, 'I can't hold...'" Like Alan, Vernon did an impression of Celia's fart while Scott erupted into laughter. Scott then jokingly noted that he was "heading to iPlayer", while thanking Vernon for what he described as the "tip". In response to Celia's gaffe , reports the Independent, one viewer said: "Celia Imrie winning a Bafta for best 'on-screen fart' was not something I was expecting this year." Celebrity Traitors returns tonight (Wednesday, October 29) at 9pm on BBC One.
