Prime Video has confirmed its slate of new movies and TV shows for the week ahead, and it’s looking like a pretty exciting seven days for subscribers of the Amazon-owned streaming service. For starters, Prime Video has a new psychological thriller series from the mind of Harlan Coben. Most interestingly, this six-episode show isn’t based on one of Coben’s best-selling novels and is instead an original story, so every twist will be fresh. Meanwhile, on the movie side of the service, there’s one of my favorite sci-fi thrillers of 2025 (so far), and a charming animated comedy about a family of birds attempting to migrate for the season. Below, I’ve picked out the highlights of Prime Video’s new content this week, and I’ve also included the full list of all the movies and shows arriving on the platform over the next few days to give you the complete picture. New on Prime Video this week: Top picks ‘Harlan Coben’s Lazarus’ Best-selling crime author Harlan Coben has formed a formidable partnership with Netflix in recent years, with shows like “Fool Me Once,” “Missing You” and “The Stranger” becoming monster streaming hits. But his latest project sees him switch sides to Prime Video. “Lazarus” is a new six-part psychological thriller, and unlike previous Coben series, it isn’t adapted from one of the American novelist's popular books; instead, it’s an original story. Starring Billy Nighy, Sam Claflin, Alexandra Roach and David Fynn, “Lazarus” centers on Dr Joel Lazarus (Calfin), nicknamed Laz, a forensic psychologist who is forced to confront some dark secrets after his father (Nighy) passes away. Returning to his family home, Laz is initially told his father’s death was a suicide, but as he explores the case, he becomes convinced something more sinister is afoot. And then he starts seeing dead people. It all sounds like a classic Harlan Coben thriller, but with an intriguing supernatural twist. Watch "Harlan Coben’s Lazarus" on Prime Video from October 22 ‘Companion’ “Companion” is one of 2025’s most overlooked movies. This sci-fi thriller from writer/director Drew Hancock is both darkly funny and deliciously twisty. Plus, it packs a killer performance from Sophie Thatcher, and “The Boys” star Jack Quaid also features. The “problem” with “Companion” is that it’s quite hard to talk about without giving away some of its most enjoyable reveals. This is one movie where the less you know before watching, the better. So, if you’re willing, I recommend streaming it without even seeing the trailer. If you want at least a vague outline of the plot before committing “Companion” to your watchlist, here’s a (spoiler-free) summary: Iris (Thatcher) and Josh (Quaid) seem like the perfect couple, with a charming meet-cute story to match. However, when they travel to a remote lakeside house for a weekend getaway with Josh’s friends, things quickly unravel as hidden truths come to light, and soon enough, the situation gets bloody. If that sounds even vaguely intriguing to you, then I implore you to stream “Companion." Watch "Companion" on Prime Video from October 24 ‘Migration’ If you’re looking for an easy-going adventure that the whole family can enjoy, then “Migration” makes for a great pick. This animated comedy comes from Minions creators, Illumination, and is just as vibrant and slapstick as the “Despicable Me” franchise (but don’t worry, adult viewers, its cast is significantly less headache-inducing than those yellow little pests). It features the recognizable voice talents of Kumail Nanjiani, Elizabeth Banks, Danny DeVito, Keegan-Michael Key and Awkwafina. In “Migration,” a family of ducks living in New England decides to escape the increasingly cold seasonal weather by migrating to Jamaica. However, the trip proves rather more difficult than expected and they’re blown off course, ending up in the hustle and bustle of New York City. Meeting new friends in this unfamiliar place and experiencing plenty of dangers, the Mallard family broadens their horizons while learn important life lessons along the way.
