Drivers will encounter some daytime lane and shoulder closures this week on the South Bridge (John Harris Memorial Bridge) over the Susquehanna River between Cumberland and Dauphin counties. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said the Interstate-83 lane and shoulder restrictions in both directions will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 24, so the bridge can be inspected. PennDOT said the northbound I-83 right lane or I-83 southbound right shoulder will be closed. Three travel lanes each direction and on and off ramps will remain open. There will be lane and shoulder closures throughout October and November in both directions. The dates will be announced later.
