Portland Holiday Market This is the fifth year for this seasonal show that makes a stop at the Portland Expo Center . Shop aisles upon aisles of artisan treasures, gourmet treats, and festive décor, in a market that helps you find special gifts while strolling through the sights, sounds (including live choral groups), and flavors of the season. Sophia is in trouble with the law while Blanche and Rose develop a wildly successful dating app for seniors. Is the guy Dorothy met somehow connect to Sophia’s legal troubles? Columbia Gorge Model Railroad Open House Are model trains a Christmas thing? Naw. Scale model train displays are good any time of year. This open house just happens to fall right around the holiday season. Grab your conductor’s hat and head down to club headquarters to see working steam and diesel locomotives with a wide variety of freight and passenger cars all traveling through scenic settings you may recognize. Soprano Rebecca Krynski Cox leads the cast playing the gentle and beautiful seamstress, Mimi. The cast also includes internationally acclaimed tenor Alok Kumar as Rodolpho, and local favorites Katrina Galka and Aubry Ballarò sharing the role of Musetta. Portland Art Museum Ribbon Cutting free days After two years of careful curation and construction, the Portland Art Museum will debut its newly transformed campus with four days of free admission and a range of activities for all ages. The more than $100 million expansion project — which includes 95,000 square feet of new or upgraded space, restructured galleries and nearly 300 never-before-seen pieces of art — has been in the works since 2023. The official ribbon cutting ceremony is noon Thursday, Nov. 20. The free admission days include food, music, art making, educator-led programs and more.
