New York City’s newly elected mayor, Zohran Mamdani, during his victory speech on Wednesday, launched a scathing attack on US President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown across the country and said New York will remain the city of immigrants. “New York will remain the city of immigrants, a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants, and as of tonight, clearly led by an immigrant,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to inclusivity and equality.
