WWE Superstar Breaks Silence on Shocking Release

Dezmond Xavier, known to WWE fans as Wes Lee, is preparing for his return to the independent wrestling scene. His time with the Stamford-based promotion came to an end in early October, concluding a five-year run with the company. Xavier was part of a small group of talent cuts on October 10, which included other developmental talents, all of whom were subject to a 30-day non-compete clause. Now that his non-compete is expiring, Xavier is officially accepting bookings for matches, signings, and seminars on the independent circuit. He has already been announced for several high-profile independent dates in the coming weeks. His first confirmed appearance will be for New York City’s House of Glory promotion. HOG announced that Xavier will compete at their “Superclash” event. That show is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, in Brentwood, Long Island, New York. Following that, he has also been announced for upcoming shows with The Wrestling REVOLVER, a promotion known for showcasing top independent and signed talent. I want to apologize to everyone that showed so much love for me in the midst of everything that’s happened. The outpouring of support and adoration was overwhelming to say the least and I have to thank you all for adding fuel to my fire. it’s time to get back in my bag..😈— Dezmond Xavier (@WesLee_WWE) November 4, 2025 Following the news of his release, Xavier took to X (formerly Twitter). He sent out a message to those who have been supporting him throughout this latest stretch of his career, as he transitions from his WWE tenure back to the independent wrestling world. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match During his five years with WWE, Xavier was a prominently featured talent on the “NXT” brand. He first joined the company in 2020 as part of the tag team MSK, alongside his longtime partner Zachary Wentz (f.k.a. Nash Carter). The duo captured the NXT Tag Team Championship on two separate occasions. After the team disbanded, Xavier transitioned into a successful singles competitor. He went on to capture the NXT North American Championship. His high-energy style and connection with the “NXT” audience made him a staple of the brand before his release last month. Xavier’s return to the independent circuit will be a significant test right out of the gate. House of Glory has confirmed that his opponent at “Superclash” on November 15th will be Lio Rush, another former WWE NXT standout. His schedule does not get any easier, as he heads to The Wrestling REVOLVER’s “Tales From The REVOLVER” event in Dayton, Ohio, the very next night, November 16th, where he is scheduled to face “Speedball” Mike Bailey.
