WWE is claiming one of its singles champions is injured, but some are convinced it isn’t legitimate. Ahead of the Oct. 21 episode of “NXT” WWE announced that Sol Ruca suffered an injury during a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match on “Friday Night SmackDown.” Ruca and Zaria failed to capture the professional wrestling gold from Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. Ruca, who is still the WWE Women’s Speed Champion, took to her X account to post an update on her injury status. “I may not be cleared just yet but I’m doing everything in my power to be at NXT Deadline on Dec 6th,” Ruca wrote. Bryan Alvarez of “Wrestling Observer Radio” theorized that Ruca’s injury either isn’t legitimate, or she tweaked something and her status isn’t as grim as WWE is making it out to be. Alvarez also noted that WWE usually doesn’t announce legitimate injuries during show previews on the company’s website. Dave Meltzer is also skeptical of the legitimacy of the injury. Ever since WWE pulled off a fake injury storyline with Seth Rollins at the conclusion of “SummerSlam 2025,” more people have been skeptical whenever the company announces injuries. It’s been reported that even those within the promotion raise red flags whenever news breaks that a talent is hurt. If WWE is indeed working an injury angle, then it could lead to something between Ruca and Zaria. Monroe had been trying to split the team up by telling Zaria that she always thinks of her tag team partner over her own desires. Now that Zaria has lost Ruca’s North American title, perhaps the seeds have been planted for a rift in the partnership.
