WWE reportedly stands firm against bringing back former United States Champion

WWE doesn't seem to have any plans to bring back the former United States Champion anytime soon. After leaving the Stamford-based promotion on a rather controversial note, an update has emerged on Andrade's future. The Mexican star's second stint with the sports entertainment juggernaut didn't pan out the way he had hoped. After being stuck in a limbo for the entirety of his run on SmackDown, he was fired over disciplinary issues and violating the wellness policy multiple times.Shortly after his release, he returned to AEW on October 1 during Dynamite's sixth anniversary show, attacking Kenny Omega and aligning himself with Don Callis. However, he has since been taken off TV, and his name hasn't been brought up by the commentators.Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reported that WWE sent a Cease and Desist letter to AEW for using Andrade on television despite his non-compete clause. In a follow-up update, PWInsider noted that the 35-year-old could be forced to sit on the sidelines for a year for breaching the 90-day non-compete clause.Several people in the Lucha circles were under the impression that the company was enforcing the clause to bring him back. That doesn't seem to be true.During the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shut down any rumors of Triple H-led creative planning to bring Andrade back into the fold."For what this is worth, according to those in WWE, the rumors from last week that WWE is looking to now bring him back aren’t true. One person near the top who would likely know said that he had never heard the name discussed. Another who would have to know said the story wasn’t true.”WrestlePurists @WrestlePuristsLINKAccording to those in WWE, the rumors from last week that WWE is looking to now bring Andrade back aren’t true.
