WWE official's in-ring career is allegedly far from done

Veteran professional wrestler Mickie James claimed that a WWE official's in-ring career is far from over. The latter hasn't wrestled a match since October 2023.Mickie James recently made an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. The former five-time WWE Women's Champion spoke about several things, including her husband, Nick Aldis' potential in-ring appearance. The 46-year-old claimed that the SmackDown General Manager's wrestling career was far from done. James noted that getting an opportunity to wrestle a match for the Stamford-based promotion would be a dream come true for Nick Aldis."Oh, my God, yes. Oh, he's far from done. I mean, I think if he was ever given, and I would pray for the perfect opportunity and story or whatever, but I think that if he's ever given an opportunity to put on his boots and get out in that ring, I know it would be a dream come true for him," she said. [H/T: Chris Van Vliet]Check out the entire conversation in the video below:Although Nick Aldis has never wrestled a match inside the WWE ring, the veteran has put forth impressive performances for several promotions back in the day, winning multiple titles, including the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, and the IWGP Tag Team Championship.Aldis joined World Wrestling Entertainment as a backstage producer in August 2023. He was made the SmackDown General Manager two months ago and has been portraying the onscreen authority figure ever since.Ex-WWE writer believes Nick Aldis should be wrestlingWrestling veteran Vince Russo isn't happy with what World Wrestling Entertainment is doing with Nick Aldis. He shared his grievance earlier this month in an episode of BroDown with host Mac Davis. The former WWE head writer pointed out that he had worked with Nick Aldis back in the day. Russo stated that Aldis was very talented and should be wrestling. He added that the wrestling promotion was wasting his talent by having him do the same thing every week."Listen man, I worked with Nick Aldis. I know how freaking talented this guy is. This guy should be freaking wrestling. That alone is a joke. But look how they have Nick Aldis. He does the same thing every single week. Anybody can be in that spot. Seriously. Why is Nick Aldis in that spot? You can put anybody in that spot. He's talking to Wrestler A. Wrestler B walks in. Wrestler B challenges Wrestler A. And Nick stands there, 'Oh, that's a great idea.' Every single freaking pretape, bro," Russo said.Only time will tell if Nick Aldis gets to wrestle his first match inside the WWE ring.
