Woman head constable on bandobust duty at Pasumpon dies of illness

A woman police head constable deployed on bandobust duty at Pasumpon for Thevar Jayanthi died of illness here on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) night. The police said Kalaivani, 45, a 2009-batch police officer at Uthangarai All Women Police Station in Krishnagiri district, was deployed at the helipad near the Muthuramalinga Thevar memorial ahead of Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan’s visit on Thursday (October 30). On Tuesday night, after her shift, she suffered from severe fever and cough upon returning to Nadar Women’s Higher Secondary School in Kamuthi to rest. Subsequently, she was taken to Kamuthi Government Hospital for treatment, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Police sources said she likely suffered a cardiac arrest. Ramanathapuram District Police Superintendent G. Chandeesh, along with other officials, visited the hospital.
