This year’s event and decorations has been organised by Councillor Simran Cheema, who has taken over the reins from Walsall Council to bring a local and community-focused celebration to the town. Thanks to generous funding from Assa Abloy, Willenhall’s streets will sparkle with new Christmas lights, transforming the town centre into a winter wonderland. The switch-on event promises to be a day full of festive fun for all ages. Visitors can look forward to live entertainment, a variety of local stalls, Santa’s grotto, and funfair rides for children. The festivities aim to bring together families, residents, and local businesses to celebrate the start of the Christmas season in true Willenhall style. Cllr Cheema said: “I’m thrilled to have organised this year’s Christmas Light Switch-On and to give something special back to our community. I’d like to thank Assa Abloy and Walsall Council for their incredible support, their contribution means Willenhall will shine brighter than ever this Christmas. This event is about bringing people together, celebrating local talent, and spreading festive joy.” The Willenhall Christmas Light Switch-On will take place Friday, November 28, 4.30pm to 7.30pm at Willenhall Town Centre, Market Place, Willenhall, WV13 2AA. Everyone is invited to come along, enjoy the entertainment, support local traders, and help count down to the moment the town lights up for Christmas 2025.
