Calls Mount Against Mahomes & Kelce’s Restaurant as Poor $16 Dish Sparks Backlash

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce‘s steakhouse in Kansas City claimed to market itself with an approach to “rival the world’s best.” While the opening reviews of 1587 Prime positioned it as a luxurious and expensive establishment, a sudden wave of backlash appears to have challenged its authenticity. The troubles began when a Redditor recently vented out his frustration over the subpar experience at the steakhouse. As he did, several other unhappy diners joined in. 1587 Prime was initially established with the motto of blending “tradition meets innovation”. The restaurant was specifically inaugurated on Mahomes’ 30th birthday. The place saw several renowned figures from the world of sport and entertainment, including Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, Taylor Swift, Kane Brown, and others, visit the establishment. This sure left exceptional remarks. However, despite huge celebrity interaction and commendable branding, it seems like the establishment is falling short on delivering the quality that it promised. The restaurant running in collaboration with Noble 33 apparently hasn’t figured out how to make mashed potatoes. Fans lash out over Mahomes and Kelce’s restaurant food The discussions ignited when a Reddit user, going by the username “rosie67034,” shared a picture of the mashed potatoes he ordered at 1587 Prime. Served in a metal bowl, the dish appeared to be overly buttery and too soft for someone who would prefer texture. Along with the image, he also shared a review, despising the overall dining experience. “The $16 mashed potatoes served at Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s new restaurant,” the post’s caption said. Having a closer look at the image, a fan shared his review on how it was seemingly unsatisfying. “Looks like soupy powdered potatoes. Couldn’t tell where the taters ended and gravy began,” he commented. Another Reddit user chimed in with a more humorous yet scathing take on the dish’s appearance. “If that’s mashed potatoes, then I have 12 Super Bowl rings. I wouldn’t feed that to my dog,” he wrote, bluntly stating that the dish didn’t even seem to be edible. A fan expressed shock over the fact that the establishment, despite being owned by two of the top players from the Kansas City Chiefs, is serving fans with an unpleasant experience. “I’m truly shocked that the restaurant opened by 2 NFL players is shitty,” he wrote. Another fan claimed that the dish appeared to be served second-hand. “I’m not trying to support this place, but this comes off as second-hand,” the comment said. Boldly despising the dish served at Mahomes and Kelce’s owned restaurant, a fan wrote that it “Looks like absolute trash.” While various online platforms pitch different reviews of the restaurant (4.5 rating on Google and 3.9 on Yelp), the overall response is still contested.
