Will Washington Sundar leave Gujarat Titans (GT) and join Chennai Super Kings (CSK) via trade before IPL 2026? Social media has been flooded with rumours of the mega trade taking place since R Ashwin's retirement. Sundar is a like-for-like replacement for Ashwin and can fill his shoes at CSK. Ashwin retired from IPL in August. Contrary to the rumours, a latest report has confirmed that Sundar will not be moving to CSK. Cricbuzz has reported that CSK are believed to have explored the idea of signing Sundar. But Ashish Nehra, GT's head coach, didn't even entertain this. GT spent a huge sum of Rs 3.20 crore on Sundar. Interestingly, CSK didn't make even one bid for Sundar in the IPL 2025 mega-auction. GT made the first bid for Sundar and were joined by Lucknow Super Giants. GT also made the winning bid for the all-rounder. Sundar only played six games in the season. He scored 133 runs in five innings. He only bowled 10.5 overs and scalped 2 wickets. Sundar played with MS Dhoni at Rising Pune Supergiant in IPL 2018. Cricbuzz has reported that this trade is also highly unlikely. Rahul joined Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2025 mega-auction. The wicketkeeper-batsman shone with the bat and scored 539 runs in three matches he played. Rahul was DC's highest run-scorer in IPL 2025. KKR will need a new captain if they release Ajinkya Rahane. As for Sanju Samson, he looks all but set to leave Rajasthan Royals (RR). The RR captain reportedly wants to leave the franchise despite the number of changes in their backroom staff. Samson could move to a new team via trade if RR get the players of their choice in return. He will be in auction if RR opt against trading him.
