Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed yet again, this time by six months. The highly anticipated Rockstar Games title will now launch on November 19, 2026, instead of its previously planned May 2026 release, according to an announcement from Take-Two Interactive during its quarterly earnings report on Thursday. In a letter to shareholders, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick did not provide a specific reason for the delay but reiterated confidence in Rockstar’s ability to deliver, writing, “We remain both excited and confident they will deliver an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience.” Take-Two also issued a statement to gaming outlets, explaining that the delay was intended to give developers additional time to meet expectations, “Giving the team some additional time to finish the game with the high level of polish players expect and deserve. Rockstar later postponed it to May 2026, citing the need for “extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.” While another delay may frustrate fans eager to return to Vice City, both Rockstar and Take-Two emphasized that the move is about maintaining the studio’s reputation for quality. Zelnick reaffirmed: “We’re giving the teams the time they need to create something truly special. The wait will be worth it.”
