Take-Two Interactive said Thursday that Grand Theft Auto VI will be delayed once more, this time until November 19, 2026, a little more than a year from now. Earlier this year the company had set a May 2026 release date, after pushing the title out of 2025, causing an estimated $2.7 billion hit to the gaming business. The delay was revealed as part of Take-Two Interactive’s quarterly earnings report. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.” GTA 6 is by far the most anticipated video game in years, with the last trailer from May garnering 475 million views across platforms, a metricRockstar says smashed all other video game (and for that matter film) records. Grant Theft Auto V was released back in 2013, and the followup is expected to build on the platform it established. Details on GTA6 remain scarce, though it will be set in and around Vice City, the GTA universe’s version of Miami, Florida. Grand Theft Auto V was released in 2013, while GTA 4 was released in 2008, underscoring the long development cycle for the open world franchise, which relies on cinematic flair to engage players.
