Where you've seen Emmerdale's DS Carter actor before as fans say 'she's familiar'

Emmerdale fans have been left floored as they realised where they've seen newcomer DS Carter before. It's been a busy few weeks in the Dales, with two huge new storylines coming to the forefront. The first involves April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), who has been reluctantly dealing drugs for Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) in an attempt to pay off her boyfriend Dylan Penders' (Fred Kettle) debt. It was soon revealed that local farmer Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) was the mastermind behind the drugs gang, as well as being Ray's mother. Another impactful plot centres around Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). His secret prison husband, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), has recently arrived in the village, much to his ex-husband Aaron Dingle's (Danny Miller) frustration. During Monday's (October 27) episode, which is now available to stream on ITVX, tensions rose at the café between Aaron and Robert as new police officer DS Carter arrived to question Kev about an attack on an old friend. "Do you know a man called Chris Hall?" she asked, with Kev saying that they used to be "thick as thieves" but he hasn't seen him recently. "Are you sure about that? I have it on good authority that you attacked him," Carter went on. After questioning Kev, Carter noticed Ray across Main Street, and began to approach him. Ray quickly ditched a bag full of drugs and went over to speak to the officer. "Mr Walters, what a pleasant surprise. Didn't know you did business in this neck of the woods. Since you're here, can we have a quick chat? I've got a few questions about your business ventures," Carter said. "What I do is supply top quality, pre-loved machines for a fraction of the price," Ray replied, with Carter bluntly adding: "Why do you imagine this is of any interest to me? "I have [checked your website]. It looks like a cut and paste job to me. It's all fiction, isn't it?" Ray assured Carter that he's turned his life around, but the police officer didn't seem so sure, saying: "You show your face around here and suddenly there's a flood of drugs in the area. Am I supposed to pretend that's a coincidence?" Carter then watched Ray leave, unknowingly stopping him from collecting his bag, which was accidentally placed on top of Ross Barton's (Michael Parr) belongings as he moved into Dale View. DS Carter is played by actress Lisa Diveney, with several Emmerdale viewers only just realising that she previously starred in a hit British drama. Over the years, Lisa has appeared in Call the Midwife, Cleansed and biopic Enid, as well as several theatre productions. However, Lisa is best known for her role as Beth in the Only Fools and Horses spin-off The Green Green Grass, where she appeared for three seasons. After watching Lisa appear on Emmerdale, many soap fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts. "That police officer looks familiar," one person wrote on a Facebook fan page, with another adding: "Omg she's from that Only Fools spin-off!" Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
