Chicago is also in a heated race in the NFC North Division, where the Green Bay Packers (5-1-1), Detroit Lions (5-2), Bears (4-3) and Minnesota Vikings (3-4) all jockeying for position, both within the division and in the NFC Wild Card race. The Bears run into an important stretch ahead with opportunities for wins against three straight opponents with losing records in the Bengals, New York Giants and Vikings. The Bengals have been down this season, but they still aren’t out of contention in an AFC North Division that ranks among the weakest in the NFL. The team’s trade for veteran quarterback Joe Flacco has breathed new life into an offense that still has a pair of centerpiece playmakers in Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Flacco has played at a high level with seven touchdowns and no interceptions in three starts, but the last of those three contests ended in disappointing fashion in Week 8, as the previously winless New York Jets stormed back to snatch a 39-38 win in Cincinnati.
