Catalina, the girlfriend of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, told police she feared he would "end it all" shortly before the 24-year-old died by suicide, according to newly released emergency dispatch audio. In a recording obtained by TMZ Sports, dispatchers can be heard saying Kneeland's girlfriend reported he was armed and struggling with mental illness. "We're talking to the girlfriend, she's trying to call the agent, so we're trying to get her to call him first, but she's saying he is armed and has a history of mental illness, and her quote was, ‘He will end it all,'" one dispatcher said. Another voice is heard warning officers to use caution during the search. "You all do me a favor, everybody stay with a buddy, don't go looking alone — this guy is armed," the dispatcher said. Authorities said Kneeland had texted his family "goodbye" before the call. "I just received a group text from him saying goodbye," another dispatcher is heard saying. "They're concerned for his welfare; they do not have a key to the apartment." The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said troopers had earlier tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Wednesday night, but the driver fled. The car was later found abandoned, and Kneeland's body was discovered nearby with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials said. "Looks like it's curled up at the bottom of that porta-potty, with the stream of blood coming from it," one dispatcher said. The Collin County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the official cause of death. The Cowboys confirmed Kneeland's death in a statement, calling him "a beloved teammate and member of our organisation." Kneeland, drafted in the second round in 2024, had played 18 games for Dallas over two seasons. His agent, Jon Perzley, said he was devastated by the loss. "To lose someone with his talent, spirit, and goodness is a pain I can hardly put into words," Perzley said. "My heart aches for his family, his teammates, and everyone who loved him."
